Clear spells eastern Scotland, central and southern England and Wales, with patchy fog and frost.
Fog and frost clearing through Wednesday morning, although perhaps slower to clear in the northwest and Northern Ireland. Elsewhere, dry and mostly sunny spells, but light rain and drizzle continuing to move southwards across western Scotland. TONIGHT: Good deal of low cloud across western and central areas, with drizzle on some upslopes. Clear spells and patchy fog in far north and south with local frost.

Cloudier in the far southeast with blustery showers through the day. Tonight: Remains blustery in the southeast and turning cloudy with drizzle across the northwest. Elsewhere clear spells leading to mist and fog, thick in places, and frosty conditions for many.

Tonight: Dry for many with clear skies. Fog will quickly form across Northern Ireland and some other western parts of the UK. Turning cold with a frost away from the southeast.
Most areas will have a dry but cloudy and cool day, with hill fog in places. It will be breezy in the west, with patchy drizzle most likely here too. Northern Scotland will see some sunshine. Local brighter breaks elsewhere.
Cuba is working to restore power following a nationwide blackout caused by Hurricane Rafael. The storm, packing winds of up to 185 km/h (115 mph), left much of the country in the dark after battering the island on Wednesday. This marks the second major power outage in recent weeks.
