Caroline Litman, co-founder of Transparent Action, highlighted the need for new Prime Minister Andy Burnham to reverse policies affecting the transgender community during the London Trans Pride march. Litman’s daughter, Alice, died by suicide in 2022 after a lengthy wait for gender-affirming healthcare.
Six men have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of a 22-year-old in Clapham early on Saturday morning. Police received reports just after 4.30am, and the victim, who died after arriving at hospital, was believed to have been attacked near Clapham High Street.
Two boys, aged 10 and 12, were rescued after becoming trapped beneath Blackpool Pier as the tide rose. The youngsters clung to the structure for approximately 40 minutes. Despite their mother’s efforts to reach them, volunteer lifeboat crews arrived swiftly and transported the boys to paramedics onshore.

Several of the Conservative-supporting papers lead on the latest polling, which has suggested the Tories are on course for an electoral wipeout. Critics will say these papers are attempting to woo back disillusioned Tory voters by scaring them into voting Conservative otherwise expect an all-powerful Labour government.
