A special constable in West Mercia, Luke Hodgson, has been dismissed by Sainsbury’s and removed from the police service after failing to pay for carrier bags on three occasions, totalling £1.20. The misconduct ruling highlighted a breach of trust, undermining his role as a police officer.
Data from the Environment Agency reveals over 3,400 toxic spills occurred in the UK during the first seven months of 2026, surpassing totals for the entirety of 2025.
