A Maidstone resident, Karen Richardson, discovered a rat infestation in her home after finding large holes in loaves of bread. Despite previous complaints about a debris-strewn alleyway behind her property, Golding Homes has stated that the majority of clearance work has been completed and is assessing further methods to address the remaining waste.
Ten of the 84 dogs rescued from a property in Tickhill, South Yorkshire, found to be living in unsanitary conditions, have now been rehomed. The dogs had to be rehabilitated and were discovered in a house covered in debris. Sentencing for three individuals responsible is scheduled for December 9.

Police were called to Paget street on Sunday evening
A man’s body was discovered in the back of a van engulfed in flames in Staffordshire.
Police were called to the blaze in Paget Street, Burton-upon-Trent, at 7.55pm on Sunday by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
The remains were discovered only after the fire had been extinguished.
His death is currently being treated as unexplained, Staffordshire Police said, with a post-mortem examination to be carried out to establish the cause of the man’s death.
Police have asked anyone with footage from the area or information about the incident to contact the force, quoting incident 637 of August 13.
