After returning to the UK, her health rapidly declined, leading to her death on 11 June. Her family is now advocating for increased rabies awareness.

David Parfett has condemned online poison sellers for their role in the suicides of young people in the UK, following the death of his son Tom in October 2021. Kenneth Law, who supplied Tom with the toxic substance, faces sentencing after admitting to aiding multiple suicides, with families expected to provide impact statements in court.
