Football –  officially called The Association Football – is of the most popular sports in the world. In some countries, football is called soccer.

The top five European men’s leagues are the Premier League (England), La Liga (Spain), Bundesliga (Germany), Serie A (Italy), and Ligue 1 (France).

The Premier League is widely considered the best football league in the world and England has the world’s oldest football clubs due to football being an English sport.

The most prestigious competitions in European club football are the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Women’s Champions League. The football World Cup is held every four years and the UEFA European Championship also runs every four years.
