What’s happening?
John Cornyn and Ken Paxton are facing off in a Texas GOP Senate runoff. This contest is seen as a crucial test of former President Donald Trump’s influence on party dynamics as both candidates seek voter support.
In analyzing headlines, “Republicans worry the Cornyn-Paxton fight is tearing their party apart” by Politico emphasizes internal party conflict, suggesting a broader crisis of unity within the GOP. Conversely, AP News’ “Live updates: In Texas runoff, Paxton aims to defeat Cornyn for Senate nomination with Trump’s help” focuses on the electoral process and candidate strategies. The former highlights concerns over party cohesion, while the latter frames the narrative around candidate campaigns and external influences, specifically referencing Trump’s backing. This difference reflects varied priorities in coverage: one tackles party dynamics and internal strife, while the other examines the mechanics of the election.

What’s going on?
The US military conducted new strikes on Iranian missile sites and boats. This action was confirmed by CENTCOM as part of ongoing operations in the region.
Headlines reveal contrasting emphases: BBC states, “US launches new strikes on Iran, targeting missile sites and boats,” foregrounding the event itself. Conversely, WSJ’s “Iran War Live Updates: U.S. Conducted ‘Defensive’ Attacks On Iranian Targets, Officials Say” suggests a focus on justification and military rhetoric. The differences illustrate framing: one highlights immediate actions while the other juxtaposes military operations with justifications.

A shocking eviction has left fans in bits! (Picture: Big Brother)
Big Brother fans have been left in absolute bits at shocking scenes unfolding.
In a double elimination on Friday night, Chanelle was followed out the door by none other than Trish – who had been supported with ‘Trish to win’ chants just moments earlier.
The news has left fans reeling, and their co-stars sobbing, as the 33-year-old mum from Luton left the house and told hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best she was ‘excited’ for what was to come.
‘I’m still a bit shocked,’ Trish later told the hosts, saying that she understands the decision though considering it was her third nomination.
She went on to say that she thought the housemates sometimes thought of her as ‘aggressive’ when she voiced her opinions, and acknowledged several of the explosive arguments, including with Chanelle.

While Trish remained calm and understanding as she reacted to her shock exit, fans are seething.
‘That was the last episode I’m watching. Goodbye, Trish was my winner,’ one viewer promised.
Another penned: ‘So when do we riot for Trish?’
‘That f**king does it… I’m ready to riot, not my Trish,’ someone else said.
Someone else wrote: ‘Gutted Trish has been evicted! She made me watch!’

Others seethed over viewers voting for Trish, when Olivia, Jenkin and Noky were also up for elimination.
The series so far has seen plenty of dramatic moments, with Trish in the centre of many of them – and fans begging for her to take home the £100,000.
As well as being Yinrun’s best friend, she held several of the housemates to account, including Dylan, Paul and Zak.
However, she also had her fair share of heart-breaking moments, with Big Brother recently receiving more than 1,000 complaints for the way she has been treated.

In a new update shared by Ofcom, it was revealed that 768 complaints were lodged by viewers for the October 31 episode, which related to Dylan’s behaviour towards Trish after they had a huge row, with a further 97 complaints made about the episode on November 1 – this included 50 about the way Olivia, Tom, Jenkin and Chanelle behaved towards Trish and Noky, and 45 which concerned alleged bullying of Noky by Paul.
Then on November 3, there were 161 complaints about the ITV2 programme – this included 62 complaints about the way the four aforementioned housemates acted towards Trish and Noky, and 50 over alleged bullying by Paul of both Noky and Trish, making the total number of complaints made about the show to 1,026 within the space of a week.
The news of the complaints come after Trish’s best friend revealed she’d been in contact with members of the Big Brother production team after becoming concerned over the housemate’s welfare.
More to come…
Big Brother continues on Sunday at 9pm on ITV2.
