Bing’s family is heartbroken once again (Picture: Facebook)
A family cat which was missing for five years has gone missing yet again – after being reunited with its family just weeks ago.
The Bailey family lost their cat Bing while living in Southwick in 2018 and had given up hope of ever finding their beloved pet.
After moving to Wiltshire, the family were overjoyed to receive a call on December 2 from Search and Scan pet rescue services to say he had finally been found.
Bing’s owner Cheyenne Bailey, 29, told the Gazette and Herald: ‘I could not believe it whatsoever when I had the phone call on Sunday afternoon.
‘I was in complete and utter shock. I could not believe it. It was a relief that he was okay. Bing has always been a cat that wanders.
‘He has gone off several times before and sometimes it was up to a year.
‘But he has always come back. I always hoped that one day he would come home.’

Cheyenne’s daughter Sophia burst into tears when Bing came home, and told her mum it was ‘the best Christmas ever’.
But the happy reunion was cut short, when Bing escaped through a bathroom window that had been left open.
Bing’s owner added: ‘It’s really strange because he did not show that he wanted to leave. He seemed quite happy and content. We just think that he likes going outside.
‘We saw him in a bramble bush but we could not reach him and we lost sight of him after that. We’ve been searching everywhere and he’s still missing.’
The family are hoping that Bing makes his way back home in time for Christmas – and hopes he stays with them for good.
Last month, a family was reunited with their cat 11 years after it vanished.
