Former Countdown host Carol Vorderman, 62, is still showering on the toilet, despite decking out her campervan in a $50k splurge.
After recently selling her Bristol £2.6m mansion in December of last year, the TV personality pimped out a £100,000 luxury camper that she nicknamed her ‘man van’.
As the face of consonants and vowels on the hit gameshow Countdown, Vorderman spent 26 years working out fabulous mathematical equations to which viewers eagerly followed along with at home.
Now, since stepping away from the role in 2008, fitness and keeping up to date with the latest style trends on social media have become her new loves, as well as being an aviation queen. That and renovating campervans.
Speaking to Paul Merton on her BBC Radio Wales show, Vorderman described her toilet and shower area in the campervan as ‘tiny’ but making the choice to align the showerhead over the toilet was a conscious choice in order to sit down while washing herself.
Maybe this is the new space-saving hack for 2023?

Regardless, the host continued that her 4×4 medium wheel based MAN TGE3 is so small, ‘that you can’t actually stand up in it’ which led to the odd change in design.
Not only is there a shower facility and toilet access, but it’s also actually ‘a compost toilet’ which allows the user to sit down and minimise space in the area.
There certainly aren’t many people willing to throw away a mansion with a huge pool for a 4×4 van while also waiting to purchase a motorhome, but it turns out Vorders isn’t one of them.
Though, if the shower-toilet combo doesn’t work out for long, at least the star owns another property in Wales and a small flat in Bristol that she could deck out.

When speaking to Hello! Magazine recently about her desire to live in Wales permanently, the numbers expert admitted to wanting to ‘spend much less time in London working – that’s a decision of mine. I’m only doing the things that I want to do.’
Campers and toilets aside, the host spoke to Lorraine Kelly on Thursday’s edition of her show about the upcoming new series of I’m A Celebrity All Stars.
Next month, a brand new edition of the popular ITV show is heading our way, featuring several former stars of the programme, as well as a few past winners, including Vorderman herself as well as Helen Flanagan, Amir Khan and Janice Dickinson.
Vorderman explained that she had ‘fallen in love with’ Flanagan and affectionately called her a ‘little meerkat’.

But then when former supermodel Dickinson, 68, was brought up, she responded: ‘Janice Dickinson, we’ll not talk about her so much.’
So we’ll be expecting a bit of drama in the jungle when that airs!
