Loose Women star Carol McGiffin revealed she developed an unlawful habit from an early age(Picture: ITV)
Carol McGiffin has recalled shoplifting from the age of three until she got caught by the police a decade later.
The former Loose Women star, 63, who left the ITV daytime programme earlier this year, revealed she and her friends dabbled in the illegal act before eventually getting caught.
‘When I was three, I used to pop along to Woolworths and steal mouth organs and stash them in the cupboard,’ she wrote in her latest Best Magazine column, according to Mail Online.
She added: ‘Later, at age 12, me and a bunch of friends went on a Christmas shoplifting spree, again in Woolworths, where I was caught with Sellotape and a pottery horse in my bag’.
The TV personality was so scared when the police threatened her with a criminal record that she never stole anything again.
After leaving Loose Women in May, having first appeared on the panel in 2000, Carol called out her former employer, and took aim at former This Morning co-hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield after his exit, saying things were ‘dysfunctional’ behind-the-scenes of their show.

She elsewhere asked the CEO of ITV to step down from their role after Schofield admitted his ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a younger employee.
She later issued a blistering rant during an appearance on GB News, saying: ‘Well put it this way, reading all the comments from the article at the weekend there are a lot of people who think the programme has gone very, very woke.’
She joked that even she doesn’t watch anymore and added: ‘You just don’t have to keep forcing this stuff down peoples’ throats. It’s not just ITV, the BBC is probably worse actually.’
At the time of announcing her departure, Carol stated that it was a decision she was ‘forced to make’ and left her ‘quite upset’.
