Newcastle striker Callum Wilson was left fuming with Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario after his side’s 4-1 loss on Sunday.
The Magpies were thrashed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium thanks to goals from Destiny Udogie, Richarlison (two) and Son Heung-min, with Joelinton grabbing an injury time consolation.
The visitors were easily second-best, but there appeared to be some unpleasantries at the full-time whistle as Wilson confronted Vicario shortly after the keeper had saved a header from the England international.
Discussing the incident with Sky Sports post-match, the 31-year-old revealed that he took issue with his opponent’s conduct, saying: ‘There’s a way to win.
‘We saw it in the week where Everton were winning and [Jordan] Pickford was messing around.
The goalkeeper [Vicario], I’ve had a header, he starts pulling faces and messing around and it’s a lack of respect, I thought. I’ve said my peace, we’re grown men and we move on.’
Wilson refers to Newcastle’s 3-0 defeat at Everton on Thursday, where Pickford’s antics triggered a 13-man melee at the full-time whistle.
