Britons back sacking of workers for ‘grossly offensive’ comments, poll suggests
The i says Britons are more likely than not to back the sacking of people from their jobs for saying something “grossly offensive”, polling today suggests.
Nearly half (48 per cent) believe it would be fair for people to be at risk of losing their livelihoods, compared to around a third (35 per cent) who thought it was unfair, the YouGov survey suggested.
The polling, for a More In Common report on the culture wars, comes after a series of controversial sackings ignited debate around “cancel culture”.
