Britney Spears unfollows sister Jamie Lynn amid ongoing rift
Pop sensation Britney Spears has unfollowed her sister Jamie Lynn on Instagram amid the ongoing rift over Britney’s conservatorship – in which she’s only recently been freed from.
The move comes during a rift between the sisters that became public during the last few months of Britney’s bid to end her 13-year conservatorship – that controlled every aspect of her life.
As of Monday 3 January, Jamie Lynn still follows her sister on Instagram.
Back in June, Britney spoke for the first time about her conservatorship in a court testimony during which she called for her father and others involved in the legal arrangement “to be in jail.”
Following the explosive appearance at the court in LA, the singer left a lengthy message to fans in which she complained about people close to her “never showing up.”
The message came just after Jamie Lynn had publicly pledged her support for her sister for the first time.
In July, Britney called her sister out.
“I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes!” she wrote at the time. “My so-called support system hurt me deeply!”
The 40-year-old added: “If you’re like my family who says things like ‘sorry, you’re in a conservatorship’ … probably thinking you’re different so they can f*** with you!”
The sisters’ mum Lynn Spears has defended her youngest daughter Jamie Lynn – telling critics to “stop” attacking her.
