British & Irish Lions need spirit of Finn Russell to win hearts and minds
The Times says “It’s done now,” Alun Wyn Jones said when asked to reflect on his fourth British & Irish Lions tour, by which he meant there was little to be gained from raking over the regrets, the missed opportunities and the small decisions that came with big consequences. “Should have, could have, would have — that always happens.”
In the micro sense, that was true. The 2021 Lions was over. There was no next game to prepare for. The players flew home on Sunday night, arrived in Jersey yesterday and will spend the next ten days decompressing on the island, much to the frustration of the local health authorities.
