Leandro Trossard would thrive at Chelsea or Arsenal if he decides to leave Brighton in the January transfer window, says Gabby Agbonlahor.

The versatile attacker, arguably Brighton’s best player, shone during Graham Potter’s tenure at the Amex before he replaced Thomas Tuchel in September.

Trossard is out of contract at the end of the season and has continued his impressive form this term, registering seven goals and two assists across 12 Premier League games, including a hat-trick against Liverpool at Anfield.

The 27-year-old Belgium international scored the opening goal as Brighton stunned Chelsea 4-1 on Saturday, with the Seagulls currently eighth in the table.

Trossard has been linked with a move to a bigger club for some time now – and with Potter in the dugout at Stamford Bridge – many have speculated that Chelsea could be his next destination.

However, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are also interested in signing Trossard, who suggested he was open to a change of club earlier this month.

Agbonlahor has urged Trossard to move to Chelsea or Arsenal, telling talkSPORT: ‘He’s improved so much. He’s adding goals as well, he’s a threat.

🔥 “He could start for Belgium. He could do a job for Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea.”

‘The goal he scored [against Chelsea], composure, into the corner of the net and he could be one that starts regularly for Belgium.

‘He’s going to attract a lot of clubs over Europe. Premier League clubs as well. I think he could do a job at Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs.

‘So I think now he’s playing like he is, maybe January, if Brighton can get a bit of money for him, they might sell him in January.’

Brighton return to Premier League action on Saturday with a trip to face struggling Wolves.

Chelsea and Arsenal, meanwhile, both have midweek European games before their next top-flight matches.

The Blues host Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday before the Gunners take on FC Zurich at the Emirates on Thursday.
