A boy, 17, has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman died outside her home in Cheshire this morning.
The woman, 48, was found ‘seriously assaulted’ by officers at her home in Warrington, a town about 16 miles southwest of Manchester.
Emergency services pulled up to the property along Phoenix Place at around 9:40am, Cheshire Police said, following reports of a ‘domestic incident’.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
County police arrested the teen on suspicion of murder and he remains in custody to be interviewed by investigators.
The woman’s next of kin are being supported by officers.

Warrington Local Policing Unit Detective Superintendent Jon Betts stressed it was an ‘isolated incident’ and there ‘is no risk to the wider community’.
‘A 17-year-old boy has been arrested and he is being held in police custody,’ Betts said.
‘There is currently an increased police presence in the local area, and I would urge anyone with any concerns to speak to an officer.
‘As part our ongoing enquiries I would like to hear from anyone who was in the Phoenix Place area between 9.30am and 9.45am and believes they may have witnessed the incident.
‘The same goes for anyone with any video or dashcam footage.’
