Boris Johnson ‘wants to draw a line and move on’ as he faces crunch leadership vote TONIGHT
The Sun says BORIS Johnson has insisted he relishes tonight’s do-or-die confidence vote as a chance to silence his Tory rebels once and for all.
The PM faces the fight of his political life this evening as Conservative MPs gear up to decide whether to keep or chuck their leader.
Backbench chief Sir Graham Brady announced this morning that more than 54 Conservative MPs have submitted no confidence letters.
It triggers a dramatic secret ballot between 6 and 8pm later this evening in which Tory MPs will decide Mr Johnson’s fate.
The PM has vowed to fight tooth and nail to squash the revolt and stay in Downing Street.
A No10 spokeswoman said the PM relished the “chance to end months of speculation and allow the Government to draw a line and move on.”
