Bomb hoax shuts nearly 100 schools in Dehli
Nearly 100 schools in and around India’s capital, Delhi, had to evacuate thousands of students because they received fake bomb threats through emails.
Officials believe these threats were just a prank. They checked all the schools but didn’t find anything suspicious.
The police have tracked down where the emails came from and are investigating further.
The federal home ministry and Delhi Police have urged everyone to stay calm.
VK Saxena, who oversees Delhi’s security, mentioned that schools in Delhi and nearby areas that got the threat are being carefully checked.

The Fire Services of the city also sent teams to the schools to look for any signs of danger, but they didn’t find anything during their search.
“Dog squads, and bomb disposal units are also working,” Mr Saxena told local media. “I want to assure the people of Delhi that Delhi Police is fully prepared and we will try to prevent any untoward incident from happening.”
On X, formerly Twitter, Mr Saxena posted a message asking parents not to panic and to co-operate with the administration “in ensuring safety of schools and the children”.
