UK blood banks are experiencing a national shortage so why not donate blood for the chance to win the latest makeup products?

Beauty brand Lottie London has launched a Blood for Beauty initiative where it will be accepting blood donation as ‘payment’ for its new Love Sucks range.

In response to the NHS experiencing a national blood shortage, the makeup brand is encouraging its ‘Lottie squad’ to donate during the month of October to get their hands on the Lottie X Vampire Diaries collection.

Statistics show that in the UK one million more blood donors are needed over the next five years to ensure patients receive the right type of blood to save and improve their lives.

There is a particular need for Black African, Black Caribbean and younger donors.

So why not do your part for the NHS while also getting the latest makeup products?

Lottie London is giving away more than £4,000 worth of products, after all.

Appreciation for the initiative has already exploded in the comments on social media – with one particularly appreciate user sharing their story.

Bluebella77 commented that they had a life-saving blood transfusion after the birth of their first child, saying they may not be here without it.

They said: ‘Well done for the initiative to try and get more blood donors. I wish I could donate but I’m not allowed due to my transfusion. I hope your initiative inspires some amazing people who can save a life to donate.’

You might think winning is a long shot but Lottie London are picking up to 100 winners, so you’re definitely in with a chance.
