Big Brother’s Zak reveals worried Kerry’s comment before savage public chant

Big Brother star Zak Srakaew has opened up about how Kerry Riches felt when she heard the public’s savage chant about her on eviction night.

According to the eliminated contestant, Kerry, 40, might have already had a suspicion that the public wouldn’t be in her favour before hearing crowds of them yell “Get Kerry out!”

On Friday night, it was confirmed that Zak, 28, had been voted out of the Big Brother House after going up against Henry Southan, 25.

Metro.co.uk had the chance to speak to the model after that fateful night, which saw presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best speak to the housemates live while surrounded by an audience of fans.

As the co-hosts’ voices resounded around the living room, the group could hear members of the public savagely chanting their wish for Kerry to be ousted out of the house, as a horrified expression dawned on her face in response.

While some might have thought that moment would come as a huge surprise to Kerry, Zak revealed during our chat that the day before, she questioned him about how much of what’s said in the house would actually make it onto the programme.

Metro.co.uk has launched its new Big Brother’s Big Body Language series with body language expert Judi James, available to watch on our YouTube channel every Thursday from 6pm.

‘The day before, Kerry actually came over to me. She said: “Zak, you know all the things we talk about, we do, do you reckon they’ll show everything?” So she seemed a bit worried,’ he shared.

Zak wondered if perhaps her fear came down to the confrontation they’d had concerning speaking about their fellow housemate Matty Simpson behind his back.

‘Prior to that, I’m not sure what else she said to anybody else, but she looked really worried,’ he added.

Zak, who hasn’t watched the episodes of the show back yet in depth, added that he wasn’t personally surprised by the brutal chant.

‘I feel like she’s said or done something that the viewers might have seen,’ he stated, adding that in his view other housemates including Jenkin Edwards, Tom Bryant and Hallie Clarke might start being more ‘cautious’ with Kerry going forward.

Speaking further about Kerry, he continued: ‘She doesn’t like to own up to mistakes. So I feel like she just needs to let her own up to mistakes and what she has done and what she’s done.’

As for whether Kerry could win the public back, Zak doesn’t think there’s anything that she can do to flip fans’ opinions on her – but he hopes viewers aren’t too harsh with her.

‘But I try to say good things about her. When it’s nothing to do with the game and it’s nothing to do with Big Brother, she’s just a genuinely lovely woman,’ he stressed.

‘I don’t want the public to be nasty to her, because she’s just a normal woman and she has got a lot on her plate, and bless her, she’s going through a lot. I hope the public doesn’t give her too much of a hard time, because she is a nice woman.’

Zak recalled interactions that he had with Kerry that felt ‘fake’ to him, such as when she called him a ‘game player’ and ‘not genuine’, before two minutes later saying that she ‘loved’ him.

‘If you’re gonna think I’m a game player, you don’t think I’m genuine, say it with your chest. Don’t come over here two minutes later saying you love me, because it just makes me think you’re playing a game and you’re trying to have your own back for the next nomination,’ he said.

‘But she’s human, and I hope everybody sees a softer side in her and hopefully not everyone’s looking at her in a malicious way or giving her a hard time.

‘I feel like she struggles with what the public thinks of her. I’m one of those people, I don’t really care what people think of me. I am who I am. If you like me, you like me, you don’t, you don’t.

‘But I feel like with Kerry, she wants everybody to like her, so I feel like if she had a bit of hate in there, it might do a bit of damage, so I hope the public goes easy on her.’

Big Brother returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
