Big Brother icon explains how show could avoid booting Zak or Henry off after all

It’s safe to say that the second week of Big Brother 2023 has been dramatic to say the least.

In shocking news, it was recently confirmed that contestants Zak and Henry will go up against each other in the next eviction, following Farida’s elimination.

Their nominations might have come as a surprise to some, especially after Hallie ruffled feathers and sparked frustration over her tantrum at the camera during the shopping challenge.

As fans wait to see who hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best announce as the latest housemate to be booted out, Metro.co.uk spoke to body language expert Judi James to hear her verdict for our brand new series Big Brother’s Big Body Language, which drops every Thursday on YouTube at 6pm.

The Big Brother icon believes that the ITV programme should use its power to stop the two big characters from being at risk of elimination, by placing others in the firing line instead.

‘We mustn’t let the boring people in that house win,’ Judi began, referencing the several members of the cast who based their nominations for the latest eviction around people’s cleaning and eating habits.

Watch Big Brother’s Big Body Language

Metro.co.uk has launched its new Big Brother’s Big Body Language series with body language expert Judi James, available to watch on our YouTube channel every Thursday from 6pm.

‘We don’t care who’s eating what. We don’t care if Zak’s nicking all the food or anything like that. I think what the viewer does care about is watching people that have gone in there and just whinged wall to wall and really not added anything.

‘They then nominate, and for that really quite stupid reason to us, we end up with two characters that shouldn’t go. Neither of those two should go.’

Judi, who worked on Big Brother for 16 years, then launched into her idea for how the series could take control of the evictions to avoid entertaining personalities from being ousted out.

The body language expert pointed out how she believes the contestants have been breaking the rules, including Hallie sneakily writing in code on Olivia’s back, and Jenkin seemingly implying which way he voted.

Who do you think will be evicted – Zak or Henry?Comment Now

‘Neither of those two characters [Zak and Henry] should go, they’re too strong in there. [Big Brother’s] got the perfect out – I don’t think they’re going to use it – but there’s been so much discussion of nominations this week.

‘Not just Hallie writing on the backs and things like that. I’ve listened to loads of discussions, Jenkin in particular, where they’ve been discussing it without being hugely specific, but they’re breaking the rules.

‘I just wish Big Brother would go in there now, call them all out on it, and just go, “Right. You are all up for eviction now.” That I think would give the viewer a much better selection to choose from.’

As Judi pointed out, but Zak and Henry play significant roles in the dynamic of the Big Brother House, with Zak often playing peacekeeper and bringing levity to group chats, and Henry forming close bonds with people including Jordan and Yinrun.

So how does she think either of them leaving will impact the atmosphere in the household?

‘I don’t know this voting public very well. I mean, years ago, you could pick out every time because everybody was… but then social media made a lot of changes,’ she began.

‘It did hit Big Brother towards the end. But initially, it wasn’t a big influence. But then people on social media started playing it like a game where they would get together sometimes to get somebody out that’s good just to annoy the producers. It became very like a flock of starlings. So it’s harder to work out who might go.

‘In terms of “the done more things to be unpopular”, it would be Zak – but Henry’s quite subtle and it might be that people haven’t quite looked at him enough and think he’s a bit boring, which would be a real shame.’

Judi outlined how when voting Big Brother contestants out, she likes to approach it like a game of Jenga, when you carefully pull out a brick and the structure remains standing.

‘Well that would be neither of those two, that would have to be a Tom or somebody like that. So it will upset the core group if Henry goes, which is very nicely established,’ she speculated.

‘And I think if that happens, I think the moaners – I can think of no other name for them – the moany group will begin to really see they’ve got power in it and them will pick all of them off one at a time, so that lot will disperse, which would be a real shame.’

Wondering how Zak’s absence could affect the house, she added: ‘If Zak goes I think probably we’ve got enough leaders in there to not notice it and he’s a big character, but he’s not the only dominant alpha.

‘There’s Dylan and Noky and Trish – there’s enough people where it would notice for a while but then I think other people would take his role over, but I honestly don’t want either of them to go. It will be such a shame.

‘I’m gonna say that Zak might go but if people haven’t been watching it that closely, they might actually get rid of Henry, sadly.’

So whose place in the Big Brother House will be saved, Zak or Henry? There isn’t long until we find out!

Big Brother returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
