Cliff Notes – Big Brother fans claim they’ve ‘won’ after latest eviction twist

    • Viewers have praised ITV for changing the voting format to a “vote to save” system for the first time in Big Brother history, marking a significant shift from the traditional “vote to evict” approach.
    • The announcement was made by co-host Will Best during the Late & Live show, eliciting a positive response from many fans on social media, who felt their feedback was finally acknowledged.
    • While the majority of fans welcomed the change, some expressed concerns about the new format, preferring the previous voting system and questioning the rationale behind the alteration.

Big Brother fans are praising a major change to the voting format for the 25th anniversary of the show.

During last night’s episode, viewers were left feeling emotional after new housemate Richard, 60, revealed that he had adopted a 33-year-old refugee, who was his only son.

This came after Danny Beard ‘gagged the entire Big Brother audience’ after taking brutal swipe at the first evicted housemate, Emily Hewertson.

But, during the Big Brother: Late and Live show, fans were overjoyed to learn that the normal voting format has been thrown out of the window.

Hosting the after-show, Will Best announced that fans can expect the voting process to be very different ahead of the first live eviction, saying: ‘You may have heard this series the game is changing.

“Ahead of the first live eviction of the series, I can now exclusively reveal that in a break from long-standing Big Brother tradition that you the viewers will not be voting to evict. You will be voting to save.’

The change to the format marks the first time in Big Brother history that viewers will vote to save contestants for an entire series.

The format has been used before on the show and in the celebrity series, but viewers are typically asked to vote for people they want to evict.

Taking to social media, fans seemed to be extremely happy with the news, as @ScottTHFC23 wrote: ‘About damn time, so happy it’s voting to save now ITV listened for once.’

@itsnottobs added: ‘I was shocked when it was vote to evict again this season after the bloodbath the week before the finale was with lily and khaled leaving. glad itv is doing things right this year.’

@DanielM4713 also wrote: ‘Vote to save! I’ve dreamed for times like this #bbuk #bbll’

Meanwhile, @dxvxntrealitytv echoed these comments by saying: ‘I’m so glad the producers have listened to what most people are saying and are finally doing Vote To Save this year 😍 #BBUK #BigBrotherUK.’

However, not all fans seemed to be as equally pleased with the news, with some insisting that the older format is better.

@PlumleyLia44904 wrote: ‘I can’t see that working I alway love it to vote to evict out.’

@paradeboy also questioned: ‘Why did they change it?’

@Deactivate_Hab finally claimed: ‘I feel like Late and Live make such a hype about news and its always Meh. I was expecting somthing bigger than this announcement.’

Watch Big Brother Sunday-Friday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
