Colin Farrell is pretty excited for who he is taking as his plus one to the Academy Awards.

Prepare yourselves because it is adorable – it’s his youngest son.

The star revealed that Henry, 13, whose mother is Mexican-Polish actress Alicja Bachleda-Curuś, will be joining him at the prestigious ceremony on March 12.

Colin is nominated for the best actor Oscar for his portrayal of Pádraic Súilleabháin in The Banshees of Inisherin, the first nomination in his 25-year career.

The In Bruges actor – who also has 19-year-old son James with model Kim Bordenave – is very excited for the evening, and he and Henry are dressing to impress!

‘We’re both wearing velvet tuxes,’ he told Vanity Fair.

Colin is quite private about his sons, but Henry recently featured in a Cork-based story when Colin had a past ban lifted for his alleged ‘outrageous behaviour’ at a bar when he was 19.

He revisited the establishment during a road trip with Henry back in September, where he is now pals with the landlady, where she said she was ‘proud of him no matter what’.

The actor’s acclaimed Irish movie is nominated for a total of nine gongs at the Los Angeles bash.

The 46-year-old said at the time of his nomination: ‘[I’m] just so grateful to the Academy for all the love it’s shared with the Banshees’ cast and crew.

‘Also, beyond honoured to be lumped together with my fellow nominees. A heartfelt congratulations to all the lads.’

Fellow best actor nominee Austin Butler recently opened up on his rotating award ceremony plus ones, taking his movement coach Polly Bennett to the Baftas, where he shouted her out in his acceptance speech and praised her as his ‘rock’ during preparation and production on Elvis.

Colin’s co-stars Brendan Gleeson, Barry Keoghan and Kerry Condon are also nominated in the best supporting actor and actress categories, while Martin McDonagh is up for best director.

Colin already scooped the best actor in a comedy or musical prize at this year’s Golden Globes.

Meanwhile, The Batman actor recently shared how ‘fond’ he was of his donkey co-star in The Banshees of Inisherin, who – let’s face it – was a real scene stealer.

The movie star shares a lot of screen time with a miniature donkey in the movie and he admitted their bond was very genuine.

Rosie was his fist experience of working with a donkey, which he called ‘great’.

He recalled to OK! magazine: ‘She’s such a very real and very present part of the film and the landscape, but also Padraic’s emotional world.

‘She’s a rescue donkey of sorts. She rescues him from his own boredom and his own kind of banality. Daily.

‘The bond that we ended up having on screen might not be a result of that editorial smoke and mirrors, shall we say.’

The actor added that he was ‘well fond of her’ and she was ‘very sweet’.
