Bella Ramsey and Ariana DeBose proved that there’s no bad blood between them as they shared a tight embrace at the Emmys.
Awards season has officially kicked off, with stars from shows including Succession and The Bear, and films such as Oppenheimer and Barbie, being recognised for their incredible talent.
The Emmy Awards took place on Sunday night in Los Angeles, with some of the biggest moments of the night including an emotional Grey’s Anatomy cast reunion and a ‘literal hell goblin’ haunting the audience.
The ceremony came just a day after the Critics’ Choice Awards, when The Last of Us star Bella read a joke on a teleprompter about West Side Story star Ariana which went down incredibly badly.
While presenting the award for best song with In The Heights’ Anthony Ramos, Bella, 20, listed indiviudals who are ‘actors who also think that they are singers’… including Ariana, 32, in that category.
Fans were enraged by the jibe, considering Ariana is a Broadway legend who was one of the original cast members of the musical Hamilton, who won the Oscar playing Anita in West Side Story and who was nominated for a Tony in 2018.

Ariana appeared to react to the insulting wisecrack on her Instagram Story, when she wrote: ‘No, I didn’t find it funny.’
In addition to sharing their fury over the jab, plenty of people also rushed to defend Bella, pointing out that they wouldn’t have written the joke themself when they read it off the teleprompter.
While the Game of Thrones star is yet to speak out about the awkward incident on social media, it appears that they and Ariana have spoken through the situation in person.

‘I mean it wasn’t their fault to be fair 😭 those writers set them up bad,’ Char added, while Robert wrote: ‘Great to see. The writers were to blame, not Bella.’
When the joke was made at the Critics’ Choice Awards, several people also expressed their view that Bella’s co-presenter Anthony should have spoken out, considering he starred in Hamilton and In The Heights with Ariana.
More fans reacted to Bella and Ariana’s heartfelt moment on Instagram, with one person called Claire saying that they ‘felt bad’ that Bella had to read the joke during theirpresenting stint.
Another called Karen stated: ‘I still can’t believe people bagged on Bella who was literally just reading a line given to them. Like it’s not their fault it’s the writer’s fault what the hell.’
