Bayern Munich have turned down the chance to sign Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana this summer, according to reports in Germany.
The Bundesliga champions are in the market for a new central defender this summer and have reportedly agreed personal terms with Napoli‘s Kim Min-Jae.
The South Korea international, who is also on Manchester United’s shortlist, has a €50 million (£43.2m) release clause in his contract with Napoli which becomes active in July.
Bayern have been exploring alternative options and according to Sport1, Fofana was offered to the German club for the summer window.
However, despite Thomas Tuchel being a huge admirer of the France international, Bayern consider a deal for the Chelsea defender too expensive.

Fofana joined Chelsea in a £75 million deal from Leicester City last August but the 22-year-old only made 20 appearances last season due to a knee injury.
Chelsea are actively looking to trim down Mauricio Pochettino’s squad ahead of the new season and have already allowed Kalidou Koulibaly to leave Stamford Bridge this month.
The Senegal international, who was signed for £34m from Napoli last year, has been sold to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal for £20m.
Trevoh Chalobah’s future at Stamford Bridge is also uncertain as Inter are considering a move for the 23-year-old.
Elsewhere, AC Milan are pressing ahead with talks to sign Christian Pulisic, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek is currently in Italy for his medical checks ahead of a move to San Siro.
