Azaz market car bombing kills 7
A car bombing targeted a busy market in northern Syria, resulting in the deaths of at least seven people.
The attack, which occurred in the town of Azaz in Aleppo province near the Turkish border, also left several others wounded.
The perpetrators behind the assault remain unidentified, with Azaz being under the governance of pro-Turkish militias engaged in combat against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Turkish forces and their allies maintain control over extensive territories in Syria along the shared border between the two nations.
At the time of the explosion, the market was busy with people buying new clothes ahead of Eid al-Fitr, the Islamic festival marking the conclusion of the fasting month of Ramadan next month.
The White Helmets, a volunteer rescue organisation active in Syria, reported that two children were among those killed.
Footage captured in the aftermath depicted bodies strewn across the ground, buildings damaged, and the remnants of a vehicle engulfed in flames.
As of yet, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
