Food prices rise at fastest rate for 45 years The cost of living rose more than expected last month due to the rising prices of bread, cereal, and chocolate. Inflation, which measures the rate of price rises, fell to 10.1% in the year to March from 10.4% in February, but it was widely expected to fall below 10%. Sacked CBI boss Tony Danker says reputation ‘destroyed’ Tony Danker, the former boss of business group giant, the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), has claimed his “reputation has been totally destroyed” after being dismissed over complaints about his behaviour. In his first interview since being fired on 11 April, Danker acknowledged he had made some staff feel “very uncomfortable” and apologised for that. SNP will be in trouble without action, says Kate Forbes Former Scottish National Party (SNP) leadership candidate Kate Forbes has warned that the party “will be in trouble” unless decisive action is taken to address internal affairs. Tourists in Portofino could be fined for posing for selfies Portofino, a town on the Italian Riviera, has introduced no-waiting zones to prevent tourists from “lingering” in popular beauty spots and taking pictures.  The zones, which include the most photogenic hotspots, have become very crowded during peak times, resulting in “anarchic chaos” with blocked streets and massive traffic jams. Mayor Matteo Viacava has implemented the measures to tackle the problem, with those who loiter too long facing a fine of up to €275 (£242). Andrew Lester, accused of shooting black teen Ralph Yarl, turns himself in Andrew Lester, 84, from Missouri has turned himself in to the police after shooting a 16-year-old boy who mistakenly rang his doorbell. He Andrew Lester was charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action but has not been charged with a hate crime, despite a “racial component” being identified by prosecutors.  The white homeowner shot Ralph Yarl, a black teenager, once in the head and once in the arm last Thursday night in Kansas City.
