Discrimination ‘widespread’ in English and Welsh cricket – report A long-awaited independent report into English and Welsh cricket has found racism, sexism, classism and elitism are “widespread.” The report by the Independent Commission for Equity in Cricket (ICEC) concludes a two-year investigation. Myanmar army cuts off aid to cyclone survivors The Myanmar government has cut off access for aid groups trying to reach affected areas of one of Myanmar’s strongest cyclones, making it harder for those affected by the cyclone to rebuild their lives. The decision has “turned an extreme weather event into a man-made catastrophe,” Human Rights Watch has said. The cyclone hit on 14 May and killed hundreds of people. Crime figure shot dead in Sydney shopping area A man said to be a “major player” in Australia’s organised crime network was shot dead in a busy Sydney shopping area, police say. The unnamed man, 48, was targeted in a car park at 08:30 local time on Tuesday and died at the scene. “The shooting bears the hallmarks of an organised crime murder.
