Hurricane Lidia hit Mexico as a Category 4 storm, bringing wind speeds of up to 140mph. Afghanistan hit by second earthquake in days Afghanistan has been hit with a second earthquake just days after large quakes struck the same region and killed more than 1,000 people.  The new 6.3 magnitude quake struck on Wednesday, around 17 miles north of the city of Herat.
