Fans who were hoping to see Arctic Monkeys in Dublin are fuming that the band haven’t rescheduled their cancelled concert.
The Sheffield group, fronted by Alex Turner, axed their upcoming performance in the Irish capital on Monday just one day before they were due to play, revealing that ticketholders would be refunded.
Breaking the news on social media, the group explained that Alex has come down with laryngitis, which is inflammation of the larynx, and has been ordered to rest ahead of their upcoming Glastonbury set.
‘We are extremely sorry to announce the cancellation of Arctic Monkeys’ show at Marlay Park in Dublin tomorrow,’ they said in a statement.
‘Alex is suffering from acute laryngitis and following medical advice, has been ordered to rest.
‘Alex and the band apologise for the huge disappointment this will inevitably cause to all their Irish fans.’
‘Full refunds will be credited back to the ticket purchaser’s account,’ they concluded.
But fans are furious that Arctic Monkeys didn’t reschedule the cancelled show, which was set to take place at Marley Park in Dublin.
Venting their frustrations on social media, one slammed: ‘The fact that arctic monkeys didn’t even say anything about rescheduling their Dublin show they were just like refunds will be issued like are u having me on 😀 so when’s the next time I’m gonna get a chance to see them then?’
‘Surely Arctic Monkeys can just reschedule like I don’t want the refund, I want a concert????’ another added.
A third demanded: ‘Why didn’t they mention a rescheduled date?? 😭😭😭 it was so hard to get those tickets.’
‘Surely reschedule to a later date, don’t do us dirty,’ a fourth continued.
The cancellation is a huge blow to Irish fans, as the show marked Arctic Monkeys’ only scheduled show in Ireland.

The band is due to headline Glastonbury Festival in Worthy Farm, Somerset, on Friday, however, there is now a question mark over whether their set will go ahead.
Providing everything runs smoothly and Alex recovers, they will take to the iconic Pyramid Stage following performances from Royal Blood, The ChurnUps, Texas, Stefflon Don, Maisie Peters, and The Master Musicians of Joujouka.
