Amy Nuttall is seeking a divorce from her husband Andrew Buchan after he allegedly cheated on her with a co-star.
Last month reports emerged that Broadchurch star Buchan, 44, had left his wife, 40, for his Better co-star Leila Farzad, 39, while they were filming the BBC thriller series.
Now Nuttall, who starred on Emmerdale and Downton Abbey, is reportedly starting proceedings to officially split from her husband of over a decade.
‘She’s told him she wants a divorce,’ a source said.
‘She’s been publicly humiliated, and the pain has been unbearable.
‘Now she’s decided to take back control again and plan her own future. She’s going down the legal route and will get everything she’s entitled to,’ the source told The Sun.

They added that while she had been left ‘broken’ and ‘humiliated’ by her husband’s actions, she wanted to ‘move on’ and ‘not let the messy break-up define her’.
While Buchan and Farzad were believed to have been living together after the affair, they have now also apparently split.
The source added the actress had reconciled with her husband James Maizels.

‘They seem to want to make another go at it — they’re wearing wedding rings again and spending time together to rebuild,’ they said.
When the news first broke about the alleged affair, sources said that it had been a ‘huge shock’ for Nuttall.
Friends of hers said she had been ‘trying to make sense’ of her husband’s actions and choice to walk out on their ‘idyllic family life’.
‘It was a huge shock. Amy is heartbroken. Whatever has gone on, it seems to have been enough for him to re-evaluate his whole life and rip up their marriage,’ they told The Sun.

On Valentine’s Day, Nuttall alluded to her marriage breakdown with a cryptic Instagram post.
‘I am not impressed by money, social status or job title, I’m impressed by the way someone treats other human beings,’ she wrote.

The actress is best known for playing Chloe Atkinson on Emmerdale from 2000 until 2005 and then going on to play housemaid Ethel Parks in period drama Downton Abbey.
She shares two children with Buchan, while Farzad has a daughter with her husband.
