Amazon Prime fans hail Hollywood legend’s ‘incredible comeback’ as series storms charts
Amazon Prime Video subscribers can’t speak highly enough of an ‘intoxicating’ new action horror fronted by a Hollywood legend.
Starring Kevin Bacon, The Bondsman sees the Golden Globe winner portraying murdered bounty hunter Hub Halloran.
Yes, you read that correctly—murdered.
Resurrected by the Devil, he’s back from beyond the grave with a second chance at life, love… and his music career.
Things take a turn, however, when Hub’s entrusted with a new role: sending back demons who have busted out of Hell.
In the process, however, he discovers how his own sinful life got him condemned.

The series premiered on April 3, with other cast members including Jennifer Nettles as Maryanne, Beth Grant as Kitty, Damon Herriman as Lucky, Maxwell Jenkins as Cade, and Jolene Purdy as Midge.
Since then it has stormed up the Amazon charts, and is currently number two after Last One Laughing in the UK.
Upon discovering the rather gory new show, fans have taken to X with their reviews.
While the response has generally been mixed thus far, it seems those who love it truly can’t get enough and have praised Bacon’s ‘incredible comeback.’
Describing it as ‘absurdly fun’, @RamasScreen wrote: ‘THE BONDSMAN was gory, gnarly and intoxicating. It’s “Brimstone” meets “Ash Vs. Evil Dead” and I enjoyed every minute of it. Kevin Bacon totally kicked ass. A delightful blend of gut-wrenching tension, apocalyptic chaos and blood-squirting action.’
Heaping equal praise on Bacon’s co-star, Grant, @TheJosieMarie wrote: ‘If you love the humor and gore of ZOMBIELAND, you’ll devour THE BONDSMAN, starring Kevin Bacon. Half-hour comedy goodness with a tremendous duo at the forefront.’
@klhicks912 declared: ‘Watched the first season in one day and I need another season’.

Meanwhile, @caseymcknew hailed it as ‘one of the best series I’ve seen this year’, stating it’s ‘great’ to have Bacon back on the screen.
Over on review site Rotten Tomatoes, The Bondsman debuted with a 74% score from audiences, while positive top critics only just secured a majority with 57%.
It has an average rating of 5.6 out of 10, with some streamers claiming the supernatural show is ‘nothing new’.
But it’s clear there’s still plenty of appetite for more, and given that the first season ends on a cliffhanger, Bacon and co. are determined to deliver the goods.
‘All I can say is I have a plan,’ showrunner Erik Oleson told TV Insider.
‘We’ve got some really fun stuff planned, depending on whether or not the show is able to [return].’

In fact, the dramatic ending was written on purpose to pile pressure on Amazon to green-light a season 2.
‘I made it intentionally difficult for Amazon to not give us season 2 by ending it the way I did, because I’m evil.’
As for Bacon himself, the lead star, 66, has confirmed conversations are already being had about another outing.
‘We’ve already started to talk about it,’ he revealed when asked about a possible season 2, predicting plenty of ‘interesting’ action if given the chance to explore Halloran’s relationship with Maryanne.
