Amazon expands its UK Covid-testing lab facilities 

Online giant Amazon is to expand its Covid testing lab facilities in the UK. 

The move will benefit employees and UK public health, says Amazon. But it could also provide business opportunities in the health sector and help clean up Amazon’s reputation following questions over working conditions, analysts argue. 

In 2020, Amazon set up labs in Kentucky and in Greater Manchester to process employees’ PCR tests. In Manchester, the lab has processed 900,000 test samples to date.
