Alison Hammond is reportedly ‘gutted’ to be dropped from hosting the Baftas 2024.

The Big Brother star, 48, has appeared on our screens more than usual over the last year, stepping in for first Phillip Schofield after he quit over his ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair, and then Holly Willoughby following her departure, on This Morning.

She also made her debut presenting the Great British Bake Off with Noel Fielding, having taken over for Matt Lucas.

However, it’s now been revealed Alison won’t be returning to host the Baftas, as Doctor Who star David Tennant will be fronting the prestigious ceremony next month.

Last year, Alison took on the role hosting the annual event with Richard E Grant, and it’s now been said she’s ‘gutted’ to not be taking it on again.

A source claimed: ‘Alison had really hoped that she could do the BAFTAs for another year and even become a main host.

The TV star has previously opened up about ‘imposter syndrome’ (Picture: Gareth Cattermole/BAFTA/Getty Images for BAFTA)

‘She’s gutted not to be asked back – especially as she has built up such a great rapport with all the A-listers in Hollywood who seem to love her too.’

The insider continued to Closer: ‘Alison often suffers from imposter syndrome and thinks that everything could get taken away from her at a moment’s notice, despite all her success.

‘Because she got into the entertainment industry via a reality show, she’s always felt like she’s had to work harder to prove to people that she’s got skill and talent and isn’t just famous for being famous.

‘She’s really grateful for everything she has going on right now, but she’s aware how cut-throat the TV world can be.’

Earlier this month, David, 52, revealed he was ‘delighted’ to be announced as the host for the Baftas.

He said: ‘I am delighted to have been asked to host the EE Bafta Film Awards and help celebrate the very best of this year’s films and the many brilliant people who bring them to life.’

Ahead of the National Television Awards last year, Alison admitted on This Morning that she has imposter syndrome, telling Schofield and Holly: ‘I think I’ve got that imposter syndrome… I’m seeing it from the outside thinking ‘”Is this really real?”

‘I’ve been to that award ceremony so many times, and I’m alright with sitting in the background and other people taking the limelight, I’m alright with it.’

Metro.co.uk has approached Alison Hammond’s reps for comment.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.

The Bafta Film Awards take place on February 18 and will be broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer.
