The TV star shared why she feels she āstrugglesā with romance
Alison Hammond has opened up about her personal life, admitting that the idea of marriage makes her feel ānervousā.
Earlier this year, the This Morning star shut down speculation that she and her former partner Ben Hawkins had become engaged, describing the rumours as āfake newsā.
Shortly afterwards, the 48-year-old appeared to confirm to ITV viewers that she was single after splitting up from Ben, as she spoke of her hope of finding a ānice manā.
In a new interview with This Morning regular Gyles Brandreth, Alison shared why she feels she āstrugglesā on the romance front, because she ālovesā her own company.
āI think as soon as I hear the word marriage I get cold feet. I think Iām just one of those people.ā
The future Great British Bake Off presenter continued: āI always ā not think thereās something better ā but I always get a bit nervous to know that is it.
āI just feel like Iām tied down and I donāt like it, when really and truly, Iām getting to that age now where I think, āAlison, let go ā itās OK to settle down.āā
Alison is also said to have clarified in the interview that contrary to some peopleās beliefs, she has never previously been married.
The TV star shares her son, Aiden, with her former partner Noureddine Boufaied, who she met while working as an entertainer in Tunisia.

āIf you look online itās like Alison was married to Aidenās dad, but I wasnāt. He engaged me but we never actually got married,ā she said.
Alison recalled how she fell in love with Noureddineās ābeautiful smileā, adding: āAidenās got that smile as well.ā
Recalling the past relationship, she shared: āI just donāt feel like we were ready for marriage at the time. It was the perfect time to get married.ā
