Alison Hammond has apologised to people she’s been blocking on social media after realising they weren’t in fact trolling her.
The This Morning host, 48, might be one of the most beloved personalities on our screens, but she’d had to put up with some social media negativity at times.
Determined to ignore people who don’t have anything nice to say, she’s been happily blocking some, but has now had to backtrack after realising some people were actually complimenting her.
On Friday morning’s episode of the ITV breakfast programme, Alison and co-host Dermot O’Leary were introducing a subject for the This Morning’s View segment when he mentioned the word GOAT.
‘We like to think you two are the GOATS- the Greatest of All Time,’ he directed at the guests, at which point Alison had to jump in.
Looking somewhat confused, she said: ‘I didn’t know that it meant that.’

She then added: ‘I did not know…I’ve been blocking everyone.’
Dermot clearly couldn’t get enough of the hilarious realisation and was smiling as Alison then apologised to people who might have simply been paying her a compliment but were instead barred from interacting with her ever again.
‘I’m so sorry if I’ve blocked you,’ she said.
It’s not the first time the presenter has been caught off-guard on camera after another slightly awkward moment unfolded live on-air last week.
On Wednesday’s episode, Lorraine host Ranvir Singh ended the show with the usual cross to the This Morning studio to see what would be coming up on their programme.
However as soon as she did so, it became clear both Alison and Dermot were totally unaware they were being broadcast.
While he could be heard asking a producer for a glass of water, Alison was chilling out on the couch, laying back as she scrolled her phone.
Eventually getting their attention, the fill-in host joked: ‘That was smooth – nobody noticed.’
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
