Alec Baldwin has reached a settlement with the family of Halyna Hutchins.
Cinematographer Hutchins died when a gun went off on the set of Western Rust in October 2021.
Charges of involuntary manslaughter were then brought against Baldwin, 65, but it was announced in April that the case against him wouldn’t be proceeding.
However, Hutchins’ husband and son still planned to sue Baldwin, even after criminal charges were dismissed.
Legal representatives for the family said last month that Baldwin could not ‘escape from the fact that he had a major role in a tragedy.’
US lawyer Gloria Allred said she was ‘committed to proceeding’ with the civil lawsuit, in a statement seen by PA.

But it has now been revealed that a settlement has been made, although the details are not public.
As reported by Fox News, a judge has approved a wrongful death lawsuit related to Hutchins’ fatal shooting.
The order was entered on Thursday (June 1), but does not reveal details about the settlement.
In October, Hutchins’ widower announced the parties settled the suit pending court approval.
The suit was filed in February 2022 on behalf of Matthew Hutchins, and their son, Andros.
They filed against Baldwin and others whom they said are ‘responsible for the safety on the set.’

It alleged that ‘reckless behaviour and cost-cutting’ led to the death of Hutchins.
Baldwin has always maintained that the did not know the gun he was holding contained a live round.
Therefore, his lawyers welcomed the decision to drop the charges against him earlier this year.
His attorneys, Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro, issued a brief statement that read: ‘We are pleased with the decision to dismiss the case against Alec Baldwin, and we encourage a proper investigation into the facts and circumstances of this tragic accident.’
Following the recent news, Baldwin – who has always said he didn’t know the gun that killed Hutchins contained a live round – thanked his wife Hilaira with an Instagram post.
Sharing a photo of himself with his partner, he said he ‘owes everything’ to her.

Production on Rust later resumed and Baldwin returned to set.
He has also spoken about how he didn’t want to be a public figure anymore in the aftermath of Hutchins’ death.
The actor phoned his wife after the tragedy and told her that he wanted to quit acting.
Speaking to The Times, he remembered telling her: ‘I don’t want to do this for a living anymore. I don’t. I don’t want to be a public person.’

Baldwin admitted just last week he still struggles with the shooting, and he knows that after a lifetime of accomplishments in his career, the horrific incident is what he will be remembered for.
His career is continuing to move forwards, though, as Baldwin has recently been cast in a movie about a shooting that occurred on a college campus that left four students dead.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Baldwin will play then-president of the university Robert White.
