The Traitors star Ash has revealed what she really feels about her fellow players after they blindsided her and sent her packing.

The 45-year-old was backstabbed for the second night in the row, as her three fellow Traitors Harry, Miles and Paul sneakily voted her out, after suspicions arose amongst the Faithful.

In a tense cliffhanger, Ash was about to reveal to the players that she was the first Traitor caught out, and it’s all thanks to members of her team.

‘It was difficult to watch,’ Ash told Metro.co.uk. ‘And at the time, I was knocked for six, a little bit blindsided by my fellow naughty Traitors.’

But despite the epic betrayal, she has revealed she’s still Team Traitor, despite being thrown under the bus twice.

‘That’s the game, that’s Traitors for you, and I love my fellow Traitors, and I want to root for them all the way,’ she said.

The first time Harry and Paul voted to eliminate Ash, she admitted she was ‘fuming’, with the pair conspiring behind her back with a sneaky look across the roundtable.

‘I was blindsided and I was fuming at first, and then episode four played out the way that it did and we went down to the dungeon and that was not something that we were expecting, so in my mind before going up to the [Traitors tower], I was thinking that I’ve got to do some work tomorrow.

‘And then there was another curveball thrown in, so I was not expecting that whatsoever. At the time, I was like, I need to see what I could do with these two boys.’

But her reaction quickly changed, saying that Paul’s backstabbing in particular was just part of the game.

She said: ‘What a player though! This is what The Traitors is about. It’s about Paul is playing that role, and that’s the way that it is.

‘And we do also have to remember that it is a game, it’s a TV show, we’re real people behind this. I absolutely love Paul, Harry and Miles.’

While Ash is adamant Paul was playing the game by backstabbing her, viewers have had strong reactions to how he used his son to save himself from banishment.

Ensuring suspicions were diverted from him and towards Ash, Paul resorted to desperate measures and used his child to plead his case.

But Ash has insisted he was being genuine, saying: ‘I feel like he was totally genuine in that moment.

‘Just because he’s a Traitor, just because he’s playing that game, it doesn’t mean that he stops being a human and that he stops having those real emotions.

‘And genuinely when I saw his face, I felt like that was genuine, genuine emotion, it totally was.’

She added that even in her final moments in the game, she didn’t plan to throw Paul or Harry under the bus, and voted out Evie instead after ‘a little spat’.

However, had she stayed in the game, she may have had to backstab her fellow Traitors too.

She explained: ‘That’s what we have to do at the end of the day, we do have to do that eventually.

Harry was also involved in some backstabbing (Picture: BBC/Studio Lambert/Llara Plaza)

‘Episode three definitely knocked me off my path a little bit because I wasn’t expecting it.

‘And I was fully expecting had I made it further down the line that I would have totally thrown them under the bus because that’s the job, that’s what we have to do.

‘At that point when I was a little bit angry with them, I was trying to think, “okay, how am I going to do this?” But I don’t know if I fully thought it through and then there was no time to think it through – everything happened so fast!’

Ash also attributed part of her downfall to being ‘so uptight’, saying that had she been more relaxed and more herself then the other players may have thought differently.

Ash admitted she should have been ‘a bit more myself’ (Picture: BBC)

‘Looking back, I think I should have been a bit more relaxed, I think I should have been a bit more myself,’ she said.

‘And I think because I was so uptight I didn’t come across well, and I think people saw that energy and took it as a Traitor – which I was obviously.’

She added that more time to build her relationships with the Faithful could have helped.

‘I always had a couple of my favourite Faithfuls who I was going to keep on my side and keep as my allies, because I was thinking that I didn’t think they’d vote for me. At that point I didn’t think they would anyway.

‘And that was Meg and Zack, because we were on that train together so automatically we had that bond and I feel like, had I made it further down the road, I would have made sure that they were with me, because I didn’t think that they would actually vote for me.’

Despite being banished from the castle, Ash admitted her experience was ‘an adventure’.

‘You don’t know what’s going to happen, you don’t know how it’s going to play out. And I mean, I couldn’t have predicted this, but it’s the way of the world and I’m happy and grateful to be part of such iconic TV.’

The Traitors continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
