Daily Mail says Afghans caught in the chaos engulfing Kabul airport have described how victims have been shot and brutally beaten by Taliban militants and trampled to death in the melee, as US military jets make diving combat landings amid fears of a terror attack by so-called Islamic State.
An Afghan family said they had seen more than 15 people including children shot dead, night-time crowd surges outside the airport gates and people killed in the stampede as they pleaded: ‘Please, get us out of here. The situation is very bad, we are trapped in a hell.’
