    AEW confirms Wembley Stadium return for 2024 after historic show

    All Elite Wrestling is returning to Wembley Stadium next summer for another historic extravaganza.

    The promotion held its first event outside North America on Sunday night with All In London, and after a massive night they’ll be back for more in 2024.

    It was a night to remember, with the company announcing an attendance of 81,035, which they touted as a ‘new worldwide record for pro wrestling event.

    Following a blockbuster main event which saw MJF triumph over best friend Adam Cole in a dramatic AEW World Title match, former the retaining champion teased an huge announcement.

    Cole then confirmed AEW would be back, with boss Tony Khan revealing AEW will be back under the Wembley arch on August 25, 2024.

    He tweeted after the show: ‘Thank you all who watched #AEWAllIn London today, whether you’re 1 of 81,035 fans on site, the largest paid crowd in wrestling history, here live at @wembleystadium, or watching on ppv, we appreciate every single one of you!

    ‘We’re back here for ALL IN in 1 year: August 25, 2024!’

    It was a special evening for fans over 30 years after WWE SummerSlam 1992 – the last wrestling show held at Wembley before tonight – with a blockbuster lineup and legends cementing their own legacy.

    The night opened with CM Punk defeating longtime rival Samoa Joe, perfectly playing up to the boos of the packed stadium, channeling John Cena and Hulk Hogan as he thrived in the role.

    In a standout moment, UK favourite Saraya – previously known as Paige in WWE – came out to We Will Rock You and became the new AEW WOmen’s Champion, celebrating with her family in the ring.

    FTR retained the AEW World Tag Team Titles in a fantastic match against rivals The Young Bucks to complete their trilogy, while Sting turned back the clock as he and Darby Allin beat Christian Cage and Swerve Strickland in a Coffin Match.

    In another standout, Will Ospreay arrived on a huge stage as he beat WWE legend Chris Jericho in a match that built to an epic crescendo.

    Elsewhere on the card, Eddie Kingston, Orange Cassidy, Best Friends and Penta El Zero Miedo won a wild Stadium Stampede against Blackpool Combat Club, Oritz and Santana, while Billy Gunn and The Acclaimed captured trios gold from House of Black.

    And Konosuke Takeshita and Bullet Club Gold beat The Golden Elite in a thrilling six-man tag which had the crowd on their feet early in the night.
