Jeremy Renner’s priorities are believed to have shifted following his snow plough accident.

The Hawkeye star was rushed to hospital on New Year’s Day after the incident left him ‘completely crushed’ by a 14,000-pound snowplough.

Jeremy, who celebrated his 52nd birthday under the care of ICU staff, received extensive bruising on his face, with his 911 report, obtained by TMZ, revealing that he had been bleeding heavily from his head.

However, the actor is recovering slowly but surely, and has been sharing updates in the form of Instagram selfies with his fans, despite having broken 30 bones in the horrific incident.

Now, an insider who has recently spent time with Jeremy has revealed that he isn’t so focused on getting back on set.

Speaking to DailyMail.com, they said that ‘although he does still love acting, Hollywood is just not a priority to him anymore’.

‘Jeremy believes that he survived the accident so that he can use his platform to really create change in the world,’ the source shared.

‘He is very proud of the work that he has done, but this entire situation has really shown him that there is so much more that he could be doing to help others.’

Jeremy is now putting all his energy into his recovery process from his Los Angeles property, having been left unable to walk as a result of the injuries he sustained.

The source also said Jeremy’s mother Valerie, 69, has been a ‘tremendous’ source of support for her son.

‘His mother come to stay with him most weekends, as well as his daughter Ava (a nine-year-old Jeremy shares with ex Sonni Pocheco).

‘He is really only focused on his recovery and is doing rehabilitation to learn how to walk again. Jeremy knows he is so lucky to be alive.’

‘Each day is a little better than before and he is definitely making progress, but the progress is slow,’ the friend said.

Their comments come after Jeremy said he would do ‘whatever it takes’ to get back to full strength last month, as he shared a video of himself rebuilding his leg strength by using a special exercise bike.

Since the January 1 incident, he has reportedly been ‘moving himself around’ in a wheelchair according to his friend, Ant-Man star Evangeline Lilly, who called his recovery so far a ‘straight up miracle’.

She told US outlet Access Hollywood: ‘I walked in his house and got chicken skin, because I was like, “Why are you mobile? Why are you mobile? What’s happening?”

‘I expected to sit at his bedside and hold his hand while he moaned and groaned in pain and wasn’t able to move. He was wheeling himself around, laughing with his friends. It’s a miracle, a straight-up miracle.

‘He’s made of something really tough, that guy. You’ve always been able to see that in him. He is recovering incredibly, and I’m so grateful.’
