An Australian Twitch streamer has flown all the way across the world to meet her own Twitch moderator.

Not long ago, Twitch was in the spotlight after being hit with a wave of controversy over how much it pays streamers, which got even worse when people started getting injured at the platform’s annual convention, TwitchCon.

When the platform is not going through its own dramageddon moments some streamers have managed to strike online friendships, including xQc and HasabAbi, though it’s not stopped them from frequently having a go at each other anyway.

Other streamers, such as Corpse Husband and Sykkuno, who have now turned to YouTube, are also a fan favourite couple – even though they’ve continuously denied any dating claims, despite all the shipping that goes on.

It’s common to see fellow streamers engaging with each other, but the real heroes of Twitch, chat moderators, often stay out of the spotlight, bearing the responsibility of keeping the community in line.

Though it seems like one streamer recognised these efforts, and was so charmed by her chat’s mod, that she decided to get on a 30-hour flight to Germany to meet him.

Australian streamer Jjessticles, or simply Jess, who usually streams under the Just Chatting category, said that she ‘accidentally’ fell in love with her Twitch mod, in a post that quickly went viral.

She also uploaded a photo showing her and her mod sharing a kiss, and she put in the hashtag #TwitchIsADatingSite – which is often used ironically, to state that the platform is in fact not a dating site.

After that, everyone wanted to know all about how the romance between Jess and her mod started. While live on Twitch, Jess said that the situation has been a ‘total roller coaster of emotions’ and that she’s ‘never felt anything like this’ before.

‘This is the biggest roller-coaster that either of us has ever been on. Never felt anything like this … It doesn’t compare to anything else, and it never will,’ Jess said.

Her new partner, whose name is Yannick, added, ‘I had like 300 hundred emotions in two minutes,’ when talking about meeting Jess.

As Jess’s post on Twitter gained more and more attention, other streamers also shared their online love stories.

My love started as my mod, then flew all the way from Florida to the UK to visit me. Now we’re getting married. #Twitchisadatingsitenotreally pic.twitter.com/eK5Cly23AA

Another creator called MrRusty had a similar story, as he also fell in love with his mod, and they’re actually engaged to be married. Like Jess, MrRusty’s wife-to-be, flew all the way to the UK from Florida to meet him – lucky for her the flight is only about eight hours.

After hearing of Jess and MrRusty’s heart-fluttering stories, another streamer jokingly said that they can’t even get someone to text them back, let alone fly on the other side of the world for them.

Even though the gaming and the Twitch communities at large are often plagued by toxicity, it’s nice to hear that some have managed to find love, through a shared passion.

Not long ago, a League Of Legends player also proposed to their duo queue partner with an IRL hextech box, so there’s still hope for everyone, even if you’re not a streamer.

I can’t even get someone to text me back 😂😂😂 congrats yall
