The London rental market has this to offer (Picture: Rightmove.co.uk)
What can £1,712 per month get you in Notting Hill?
A compact one-bedroom flat with a ladder instead of stairs, according to Rightmove.
The new listing – found in one of the capital’s fanciest neighbourhoods – shows a vertical ladder next to the kitchen that leads to another ‘room’ – if you can really call it that.
So a keen interest in climbing would clearly suit the new tenant – and a fear of heights might be problematic.

It’s available to rent from next month and, according to the listing, the property comes furnished – although the pictures don’t show any furniture, as of yet.
The estate agents behind the letting, City Living London, also appear enthusiastic about the property. Although, they describe the ladder room as a ‘storage area.’
It reads: ‘A modern one bedroom apartment to rent on the first floor located close to Kensington Gardens and Notting Hill Gate.
‘It benefits from an open plan fully fitted separate kitchen with living area, wooden flooring, an en-suite shower room and a separate double bedroom.
‘The flat further benefits from a large mezzanine storage area.’

In terms of local amenities, Palace Court is within easy walking distance of Notting Hill Gate and Queensway Underground and it’s also moments away from Hyde Park.
This isn’t the only rental listing recently with an interesting ladder set-up, just a few months ago a compact Primrose Hill flat with a ‘sleeping gallery’ hit the market.
But if you enjoy a vertical challenge this spot could be the rental for you.
