Emergency responders have transported multiple individuals with unspecified injuries to local hospitals, while recovery operations continue at the site, which is located near an Amazon warehouse.
Miami Mayor Daniella Levine confirmed that at least five individuals were killed in the incident, describing it as a “very difficult day.” The Federal Aviation Administration announced that it will investigate the crash of the Amazon cargo plane that overran the runway.

Casualties have been reported after an Amazon Boeing 767 jet smashed into a road just outside Miami International Airport.
Firefighters report that the cargo plane struck several vehicles after veering off the runway.
Footage showed the huge cargo plane blocking traffic while huge plumes of black smoke billowed up from the wreckage on Sunday.
Mayor Daniella Levine described it as a ‘very difficult day’. She told reporters: ‘We can confirm that we have at least five deceased individuals.
‘Multiple individuals were transported to local hospitals with unknown injuries.’
The delivery plane was headed to Miami from San Juan, Puerto Rico and crashed near an Amazon warehouse.

It is not clear what caused the crash.
The FAA said: ’21 Air Flight 7598 overran the runway after landing at Miami International Airport around 2pm local time.
‘The Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft departed from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The FAA will investigate.’
