    Regina City Jamia Masjid received permission from the RPS to broadcast its Adhan before Jummah prayer on Friday. The mosque is required to reapply for this permit on a weekly basis.

    The Regina City Jamia Masjid is required to reapply weekly for the permit to play the Adhan. This operational framework will remain in effect until further notice from the relevant authorities.

    The Regina City Jamia Masjid obtained a permit from the Regina Police Service to broadcast its Adhan before Jummah prayer, with the stipulation that it must reapply weekly. Authorities have indicated that they will monitor the situation to address any community concerns.

    What remains unclear — It is uncertain how the decision to require weekly reapplication will impact the mosque’s ability to consistently announce the call to prayer.
