    MURDER INVESTIGATION
West Midlands Police are seeking information from the public regarding potential vehicle involvement in the incident where a man’s body was found in a wheelie bin.

    What we know so far

The body of a man has been discovered in a wheelie bin in Cash’s Park, Coventry, prompting an investigation by West Midlands Police. A member of the public made the grim find at around 5pm on Friday, with authorities now seeking to identify the man, believed to be aged between 40 and 50.

Police suspect that the man may have been struck by a vehicle before being placed in the council bin, which has a green lid. Detective Chief Inspector Phil Poole stated, “We are keeping an open mind, but we believe that this man has been hit by a vehicle and then has been moved to the park.”

Officers are currently collaborating with the council to ascertain the location from which the wheelie bin was moved. DCI Poole has urged anyone who may have hit someone with their vehicle or noticed suspicious behaviour among drivers to come forward with information.

The investigation continues as police stress the urgency of tracing the driver to gather their account of events surrounding the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Poole said: “We are keeping an open mind, but we believe that this man has been hit by a vehicle and then has been moved to the park.

‘I urgently want to hear from anyone who believes they may have hit someone in their car yesterday, or who has noticed a change in behaviour from someone they know who drives, or who has noticed damage to a vehicle.

‘It’s vital that we trace that person as quickly as possible so that we can get their account of what happened.

‘If anyone in the area has found that their wheelie bin with a green lid has been stolen, I also want to hear from them.’
