A woman who was arrested on suspicion of murder after two children died in Stafford has been detained under the Mental Health Act.
Meraj Ul Zahra, two, and Abdul Momin Alfaateh, three, were found unresponsive with injuries at a house on Corporation Street on Sunday.
They were pronounced dead at the scene before a woman, 43, was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Today, Staffordshire Police said the woman has been detained under the Mental Health Act after being assessed by medical professionals.
A cordon remains in place on Corporation Street and a number of officers remain at the scene.
Officers thanked the community for their help.
A statement from the police read: “Meraj Ul Zahra, aged two, and Abdul Momin Alfaateh, aged three, were both found unresponsive with injuries inside the property.
“Sadly, they were pronounced dead at the scene.
