A woman’s body has been found near the ground of a former cricket club.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the body was discovered near the former Burnage Cricket Club on Brookthorpe Avenue, Burnage, at around 3pm on Monday, 5 May.
“Officers are working to identify the woman and a Home Office post-mortem has been authorised,” the force said in a statement.
A GMP spokeswoman said it was too early to say whether the death is considered suspicious.
Pictures on social media showed a police cordon in place and a blue tent erected at the scene.
