F1 Miami Grand Prix Secures Groundbreaking 10-Year Extension Until 2041

Formula 1 has confirmed that the Miami Grand Prix will remain on the calendar until at least 2041, following an impressive new ten-year contract extension. The announcement was made by F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali and Tom Garfinkel, managing partner of the Miami Grand Prix and CEO of the Miami Dolphins, ahead of this weekend’s race festivities.

Miami Grand Prix: A Rising Star in F1

The Miami Grand Prix made its debut in 2022, marking a significant expansion in Formula 1’s presence in the United States. It joins the United States Grand Prix in Austin and the newly introduced Las Vegas Grand Prix, reflecting the sport’s growing popularity in North America.

    A Record-Breaking Contract

The newly signed agreement is notable for being the longest in F1’s history, which illustrates the rising stature of the Miami event. Domenicali emphasized that “In just three years, the Miami Grand Prix has established itself as one of the most important and spectacular events on our calendar.” He further stated that the extension symbolizes a "strategic milestone" for Formula 1, reinforcing its commitment to the U.S. market.

    Economic Impact and Fan Engagement

F1 has highlighted the significant economic benefits the race has brought to Miami, estimating over $1 billion in economic impact during its first three years. Last year’s event alone attracted 275,000 fans, a testament to its vibrant atmosphere and strong community support.

Tom Garfinkel remarked, “Securing a 10-year extension is an extraordinary milestone… This long-term commitment will allow us to continue innovating and investing in the fan experience.” His remarks underscore a clear ambition: to create a world-class race that mirrors the vibrant, inclusive culture of Miami.

The Road Ahead for the Miami Grand Prix

The contract extension positions the Miami Grand Prix as a cornerstone of Formula 1’s strategy to engage a wider American audience. With plans to deepen its ties to the local community and enhance the overall fan experience, the future looks bright for this unique race.
