The People’s Pope
AS the world reacts to the death of Pope Francis on Easter Monday, millions of Catholics will be reflecting on the man who became affectionately known as the ‘People’s Pope.’
Political leaders paying tribute on Monday morning included President Michael D Higgins.
“May I join with all those across the world, from their different stations in life, who have expressed such profound sadness on learning of the death of Pope Francis,” he said.
